Re: Help

Hopefully someone who knows more about this comes along soon. I personally would not keep the tort in that room as long as you can smell the oil. Can you open a window or something to air it out ?

RE: Help

If it were me, I would put the tortoise in a place that smells the least and has some good air flow. Like an opened window, but being sure to keep him at his temps. I say this, as I had asked Tom about using moth balls to keep spiders out of my tortoise shed. He recommended that if the smell is bad enough to irritate and keep away spiders, it could irritate tortoises too.

Oh man, that stuff is noxious.... Never knew how awful that stuff smelled until my current apartment.... Anything that bothers you will bother your tortoise, I imagine. I would think some fans and open windows would dissipate the smell in a few hours. Can you move your tort for the time being?
