Hi I have a huge patch of these weeds growing in my side yard. Can anyone recognize them? 978AC742-F927-48A5-A078-4EEF724C68FC.jpeg A4E167E8-727E-4B94-AADA-B73E8EF494C0.jpeg A4E167E8-727E-4B94-AADA-B73E8EF494C0.jpeg

Curly leaved dock, I think but I’m not positive. I’m pretty sure it’s not a plantain (they look similar). We don’t have much dock here so I’ll wait for a more experienced owner.

Dock is a do not feed so I’m hoping for something else.

Just looked it up, you are correct. That’s exactly what it is. Well guess I’ll be weeding a quarter acre to get rid of that and the morning glory I have EVERYWHERE!

It's dock. And the reason you have a "huge patch" is because there are millions of seeds on one seed stalk. You need to get a shovel and dig up those plants. They have a long carrot-like root and if you leave even a small piece of root the plant will grow back. Whatever you do, don't let it go to seed!

Thank you, luckily it’s only it one section of my yard which we keep well mowed, we just had a huge rain though so everything grew fast. Our tortoise won’t be in this area ever, but we are weeding soon before winter
