Hi

I have taken on two tortoise, please can you confirm if they are girls or boys and also what species they are?
I was told Russian but I’m not so sure.

( I know that they need to be separated, although they seem to be getting on fine and they need soil etc it’s all a work in progress I want to know exactly what they are before I set up )
Thank you

Hi there. These look like Ibera Greek tortoises, Testudo graeca ibera. Not 100% sure if they're old enough to tell, but they look female.

It's not a good idea to keep them together. They should be kept in separate enclosures.

Here's the care info for them:

I think your right, theyre greek, but I think the subspecies is Testudo Graeca Nebeulensis. Theyre a small subspecies I think, these might be adults. If so theyre female.

When are they fully grown ? I was told they are about 2.5 years old , although that could be wrong ?

If they are that young they are not full grown, and probably too young to say if they are male or female. Normally torts reach adult size around 5-8 years, though some big ones keep growing quite a bit longer. The care sheet is the same for the UK.
