Help!!? (front leg scales missing?)

I think I wiped some scales of my tortoises leg! Is that possible? She had been soaked and then I took her out. I wiped her shell as it was a bit wet from a splash but the towel just caught her leg. The leg had brown scaly things and now they are hanging of her leg...

A picture might help us see what happened. Is there any bleeding or is the tortoise acting differently?

If there is no blood it is probably just dead skin. Tortoises shed like other reptiles, but bits at a time.
