I was wondering what type of heating sources you guys use for winter time in outdoor enclosures I’m having a house built for my tort it’s going to be 5.5 ft x 4 ft house that’s going to be insulated and a air vent and it’s going to be 4 ft tall so if you have any suggestions I would love to hear them thanks!!

Hello, and welcome!

One of our members has designed a beautiful heated night box, and has put the blueprint for it on the forum. I'll link it for you. It will give you some ideas.

Most keepers who use night boxes use a combination of heat sources, one above and one under the tortoise. You didn't say what species, but this works for sulcatas very well.

There are 3 heat sources...radiant heat panel (RHP), oil filled heaters, and heat mats. Kane is the preferred brand of mat, or "pig blanket".

I've never actually used any of this, so I'll leave it here and someone else will come by that's had experience.
