My name is Tracy I have 3 red foots. Beefy is the big girl she is 8, Meety and Cheesy are the younger boys. Got Beefy first when she was about 9 months old. Got the boys then they were just at a year. Unfortunately did not know anyone's sex at that time so now we have a mad house in the tort table!! We will be building a big pen for them out back when the boys at bigger. I take lots of pics of my torts. I know one of the boys has some pyramiding but that's from the place I got him from due to food issues. Looking forward to chatting with you!

Hi Tracy! Welcome from Texas! I too keep the Redfooted and love them to bits! Yours are very pretty torts. Don't worry about that pyramiding, it is very minor. Btw it is believed on this forum that pyramiding is directly related to dry conditions rather than diet. Diet is believed to be causing MBD (metabolic bone disease) which in extreme cases will affect vital organs the shell growth causing deformities. Yours look pretty beautiful to me! I love the sleepy heads:) also love their names!

Welcome fellow Floridian and Redfoot Keeper.
I agree that pyramiding is caused by not enough humidity.
In fact, your enclosure looks kind of dry.
You are shooting for a temperature of between 80 and 88 and humidity of up over 75%.....Lucky you....Just like the conditions outside right now in Ocala.
My 7 Redfoot live outdoors. Are you able to make an outdoors enclosure?
Your three need a lot of room.
