I'm new here and a new turtle owner as well. We have 2 Russians, a male named Party Rocker (named by my youngest son) and a female named Yurtle (she's mine). Not sure the ages, female is 4", male 4.5" and we've had them since last Christmas. So far so good, they are happy and healthy. I would like to build a new indoor habitat (using a 50 gallon rubbermade storage box now) and would love any and all ideas, especially concerning hibernation boxes?? Also, any advice on outdoor time? I'm in Texas, we have triple digit summers.

Hello and Welcome are you housing the two in separate enclosures? If not, pay close attention to them and watch for bullying. The male can torment the female to illness or death.
