Very nice. What kind of substrate is beneath the sphagnum moss? I like what you've done.

That's a lot of moss! Does Eli ever bury himself really deep in it? I've noticed my hatchling eastern rarely comes out from under the moss in his enclosure. I rarely see him unless I dig him out to feed him :(.

Eli looks like he's thoroughly enjoying exploring his own private turtleland.:D

Nice set up! There is a Tractor Supply Company near me to. They have a pretty good selection of various tubs and troughs for livestock. The thing I like about the stuff they sell is that they tend to be made more durable than similar tubs available at home centers because they are made to take a beating from farm animals. I've used similar tubs buried in the ground outdoors for aquatic turtles. They have held up over the years very well!
Just curious, do you buy your sphagnum at a garden center or can you find it locally in the wild?

Petco, Zoo-med sphagnum moss.

Ok, so I took out the small water dish and put this deep water catch in. I put a Quahog shell in so he could have a landing and to get out.

Is that one of those horse watering tubs? or is it for a smaller animal? my local livestock store sells some but they are far more exspensive.
