Thanks, terryo, that was very informative and interesting!

Even though Taco only has a small amount of growing left to do, my care theme is all about pyramid prevention. I'm thinking I could set up a similar "underground" shelter with plants on top in either my garden or her outside enclosure next summer.

I also want to get more humidifying plants into her indoor pen. I already bought some of that frog moss, which I am hoping will survive if I keep it watered (my house is notoriously lacking in light indoors, and of course the Colorado air is very dry all year long, inside and out). I tried to make potted plants for Taco's indoor cage from Euphorbia Maculata, the lone weed that she ate outdoors last summer, but they didn't survive in the dimmer lighting. I've been thinking of buying a small trough-like planter, filling it with weed seedlings and burying it into the substrate so Taco can eat the plants if she has a change of heart. Hmmm...lots of ideas, lots of time to plan, and it's cheering to think about plants and living color during these cold, dark winter months!;)

AKA as a "humid-hide"? Seems like I've heard of this concept before Terryo.. I know you have - you've created it for Pio; which is why he has grown as healthy as he has!

I've got rough bluegrass in my vivarium. The stuff grows like you wouldn't believe and is very shade tolerant. It grows wherever a seed lands whether there's soil there or not. (In the water, on the leaves of plants, in my rabbits' litter box....)

Great article! I have a preformed wooden arch that I've been trying to grow stuff on and have been struggling because water just slides right off. I'll have to try this next time!

So it will grow without a lot of light? Where do you get the seeds?:p
