Good Substrate?

I've been using this and the other half is a substrate mix from the serpentarium that I mixed with moss. Anyways, lately it has been gaining attention from some small files like a nat or looks like a fruit fly...suggestions? Read post from 2012 about substrate and got some good info there additional greatly appreciated.

Get some Rollie Polys (pill bugs) they have been a life safer in keeping flies down and cleaning up any veggie that fall out of the bowl
