Our adorable goldfinchies have been visiting our bird feeder lately, and now that fall has arrived, they've started munching on the seeds of the 5'-tall evening primrose (Oenothera biennis). The seeds are extremely tiny, but so are the finchies, who can fit through the spaces of the chicken wire. They already eat these seeds since primrose is a native Michigan species. And Stevie loves the flowers and leaves from it too!!
This photo's from almost 2 weeks ago, but I finally had some time to share it! The bird is just above the diagonal chain. He was hard to get a picture of!
