they are beautiful and I am sure you will give them the best care. I raised hatchlings a long time ago, they do grow fast once they are eating. They are very active. Congratulations
They are so cool! One species I would have if I moved up north again.
Got these back outside recently. That's the last winter they'll be indoors, barring an injury/illness. All are 4-5" now. Took some shots...

Very nice Adam, they are looking great!
What about kleinmanni or spengleri? They are small enough for indoor housing. At least you can keep tropical species there. I came to the realization that trying Asian, SA and African species is essentially too difficult here. My wife wants a 'big' tortoise. Unfortunately it doesn't make a lot of sense long term. Even a p. pardalis is out of the question. If I can't do it right all the way, then forget it.

Have not been on much lately. So busy. This summer is flying by. Just sharing how I got this group setup outdoors-
I have two NA woods pre-ordered from Chris Leone atm. Do you happen to have any pics of your set up from hatchlings. I have pretty much seen a 50/50 split of people either doing very shallow water throughout entire enclosure or 100% land with soaking dish.

So I had a long, detailed response all typed up and then it disappeared. That was a few days ago.... sorry.
With the original 8 I got, I did very similar to mark1 with the sphagnum. But I did not provide a hot spot. Tub was a balmy 80 degrees and UVB it's entire length.
With the 4 I got last year, I'm doing an aquatic setup. Strictly due to a recommendation from the breeder.
So far, the aquatic is easier. In both instances, I fed separately. Or at least until fruit was offered on a dish. With the moss, digging up 8 little hiding turtles in a 3' tub took some time. In the aquatic, they behave just like any painted or cooter, crashing the glass for food everytime you're by them. They are also not as shy.
I was leaning more towards fully aquatic set up with maybe a half log for them to climb out of the water. Thank you. I also have a 3-Toed juvenile that is about 3.5-4 inches that does not fit will with my collection.

I see you are working on that new pen for those NA Woods
