Post some pictures of it. And there is no way of knowing age without knowing hatch date can give an estimate .

Why doesn't that look like a Leopard tortoise to me ???

For gender pics we need to see the bottom and tail area of the tortoise. Lay him on his back for a quick second (or hold him up) and take a picture including the whole underside and a close up of the underside of the tail.

But can we also see an in focus top picture? For some reason this looks like a different species to me and I'd love to clear that up.

Not a leopard. Mediterranean of some type. Maybe Greek.

Ditto. It's impossible to determine your tortoise's gender without seeing the above mentioned photo.

Hi Nanoon:

If you put your pictures into a free photo software, like photobucket.com or tinypic.com, then its very easy to move them from there to here. You just copy/paste the code from the picture on that site.

Like we have said before, without seeing pictures of your tortoises, we can't answer the type of questions you are asking.

Leonardo is a boy - long tail, slit-shaped vent. The one with the tail and head tucked away looks like a girl's shell (no concavity), but it's hard to tell without being able to see the tail. A female's tail would be short and stubby, and the vent (hole) would be shaped like an asterisk (*) rather than a slit.

On a side note, both look to be adult, but Greeks don't always show interest year round. HOWEVER, Greeks are very territorial, and so keeping 1 male and 1 female together is probably not a good idea. Male Greeks can be very aggressive and violent, both in their mating behavior and in defending their territory. They will bite and ram and bully... causing the female to become withdrawn and stop eating. Unless you have a very large outdoor habitat for them, they probably should be kept in separate habitats.
