While following another thread about Aldabras, the post turned to Galapagos vs Aldabra - intelligence and personality. Also comment was made on "goopy eyes". I've personally worked with 100s of Galapagos and have not seen this. I do also agree the Galapagos are by far the most intelligent and friendly tortoise I have ever worked with.
So I thought I would post a few pictures to show a bit about some of the ones I work with...
One of my 2023 babies. I threw in some treats after they had eaten a large pile of weeds. Maybe too tired to eat now, but seems to want to keep it safe for later!
Brenda with a very large male
Another huge male
One of our young females
The grandkids visiting
My other daughter's kids visiting last month.
Our young male.
Here he is with yet another of our grandkids.
Granddaughter with some of the group in their barn (converted horse stalls - insulated and heated)
Coming out in the morning when the barn doors are opened.
Grazing in one of the pastures at our place
Enjoying sprinkler "rain".
Brenda with Mopey at the Phoenix zoo.
Elvis at the Phoenix zoo with one of our friends
Humpy at the Brownsville zoo when I visited him.
Brenda at the Behler Center.
