I dont have redfoots but have seen some photos of people giving fresh pinkies to their redfoots.

Pinkies are fine, I think.

My juvenile Redfoot has eaten frozen/thawed a couple of times in the three years I've had her. She goes NUTS for them!

I would think that a whole prey like a frozen/thawed pinkie would be a much more natural diet for a carrion-eating tortoise, as they're getting all the organs and muscle tissue and brain matter in their meal. Seems more natural to be than low fat cat food... Just like everything though, give in moderation.

Now, she eats her pinkies REALLY messily. So make sure she eats them somewhere you can wash off, because there's going to be lots of blood smears. Which is also why I wouldn't try live either...way too messy and probably painful. :(

Thanks for the responses, My guy gets 1 about once a week.maybe week and a half, the second he sees it set in his food.dish he charges.over to investigate,
Luckily for Md he is big enough where 2 bites does the job and no mess :)
