Here are my two P.B. hatchlings....they hatched January 31st. For being P.B.'s they are growing fast. I havent managed to raise them smooth but they are still pretty awesome.

Looks like they have some SPP genetics in them. That might explain how big they are at four months, the dark plastrons, and the speckling on the skin.

We discussed it before, but I'm still not sure why you are seeing pyramiding based on how you said you were caring for them. I am a believer that pyramiding occurs naturally in some leopards...maybe it's genetics...maybe it's growth rate...there are still a lot of questions we need answered in order to solve the complete pyramiding puzzle.

Overall, they do look great!

The couple that owned the pair said the female was imported from south africa in 1996. I also believe genetics play a role in pyramiding. Im keeping them at 83-87F and humidity in the 80's. And they are still pyramiding! lol. Regardless Im still very pleased how they are coming along... Maybe this summer I'll get a P.pardalis and try to raise it smooth. If I manage to raised it smooth then I'll know for sure its genetics.

Thank You, Ive been meaning to buy a digital scale. I'll get one this weekend. But I really dont think its an accurate way to keep track of their growth; they feel heavier after being soaked.

They do look nice. I would love for someone to figure out why they still pyramided. So i think you should get the pardalis and let us know how it goes, smooth or not, genetics or something else. Sorry for trying to spend your money :p :D Could your humidity gauge be wrong or was it obvious that they had high humidity? I don't think the weight is accurate either, unless weighed maybe under exact conditions each time, they weigh more after a soak and less after a poop:D

My little voice agrees with me. Well, I am always right anyway, just ask me. Hey, you only live once, you can't take it with you, And no one would appreciate it, so go for it:D
