I just picked up, well rescued, a baby florida snapper.Has anyone ever kept these? He was in pretty bad shape when I picked him up but the last couple of days he has made some great progress! He finally ate and I think he is really diggin his new pad(clean water). The tank he came out of was gross! The water had the consistency of tomato soup and he was on a cold concrete floor.Terrible....Anyway, I will try and find a new home for him once he puts on a little weight.

I have an alligator snapping turtle, they stay dirty if the water is not filtered. They eat worms and fish. Mine does not seem to bask at all, like to stay under the water. Good luck.

The common snapping turtle babies that I have raised ate any of the floating type pelleted foods, they sniff them out real quick,I have two 3 year olds and they still eat them.Florida snappers will probably eat the pellets also. Len
