Fixing a thermostat?

I bought a Zoo Med hydrotherm about two months ago...recently I switched cages and the new one is VERY sealed off and closed chamber as it can get. I figured that's why the fogger never kicked on, because the humidity was high...but now I think its because my thermostat is broken. I took the cage apart and had the probe out in the open for 3 hours and the humidity read the same. I blew on it and the humidity jumped. I think the probe may be faulty....anyone now how to fix the probes on those things?
