Today, my girlfriend and I spent the day building a homemade tortoise table for an outside enclosure. We don't have that much room (or money) due to college :(. Does anyone have any ideas to improve this? haha. Btw, we live in beautiful southern California!!!! :D

Hey buddy! Welcome.
What is your substrate?
Something that could help loads for you is to go on down to Wallyworld,(Walmart) and pick up one of those huge 50+ gallon storage tubs. You could set this up for the smaller of the two russians, and they'd both be happier overall. Tortoises, russians in particular, don't care much for friends, unless, of course it's for bouncy-bouncy.
If you partially bury the hide so they need to dig alittle, to get under, they'll love that. This gives them the illusion of being well hidden. Bury one end deeper to give a starting point on the other end. Keep asking questions. You'll be answering questions for new folks in no time.

Yours look nothing like ours. Though I grew up running the San Gabriel's and the Red Box-Rincon rd. off Angles Crest Hwy. this is from my porch now;

That snow covered one looks like the one we saw from our previous house! Except it was mych further away. A few days ago those mountains were smoke covered.

I would add a UV light, night bulb, and another heat lamp unless it is the right temperature! If you can't grow plants add some fake ones too! :) You can get some cuddle bones for them as well and some logs for them to scratch their beaks and claws on :)

Ken and Tiffany: We are currently in Ventura county and it's absolutely beautiful for January. A little scared because our area is very prone to fires like Glendora. I'm using coco coir as substrate, planted a couple tortoise friendly plants in the table, separated the Russians into different enclosures, buried the hide partly, and even added a rock for a little more terrain. :D very happy with how it looks right now. Thanks everyone! It was awesome watching the male exploring everything.
