My 50 year old California Desert Tortoise came out today. She went in for her Winter nap October 5, 2012. It's been 4 months. We are in Southern California and she is ready for some warm sunshine.

I should have known Touche' would be waking up soon as the dandelions have been blooming for about a week. It didn't take her long to find one.

She has the whole backyard to herself for 50 yrs. She roams free and dines on the grass lawn, hibiscus leaves & flowers and dandelions. She winters under the shed but in the summer she likes to sleep in the back of the garage. She requires very little care. We love her dearly.

What an absolutely lovely statement....a perfect set up and a lifelong loving relationship for sure....good job at facilitating her natural deep seeded evolutionary skills...again, she is lovely.
