Hello. I was thinking about finding my Oscar a buddy to live with, and I know a shop around here has baby sulcatas for cheap, and Oscar is a year old this month. Would housing them together be a bad idea?
Your Oscar does not want or need a buddy. Stick with just the one, unless you have room to house them separate when they are larger, lots of room. Two is never a good thing.
Also, you would have to quarantine the new one for three months before housing together. Tortoise, most species, sulcatas being one of them are solitary animals and do better alone.
I didn't think he needed one in the slightest. I just thought it might be nice to have another, as I'm thoroughly enjoying having just the one
I do have lots and lots of room as of now. This house is paid off, and I've just received confirmation from my Home owners association to use my backyard and dig up burrows and whatnot.
