After years of searching I finally was able to get an adult male red foot he was a little expensive (1000$) told you Canada had crazy tortoise prices but hopefully he can breed soon so I can have some more little guys.... Great to be back!

Congrats:D. Very happy for you. Don't forget to post pics when it finally happens. Of the eggs and babies that is, not the actual mating:p:D

Man i would have just drove across the border and bought one for a more reasonable price. I drove through and even declared my hunting rifles and they didnt even look inside my car. but you never know they dont F-around at the border ive had to deal w/ them on both ends Ak-BC-Washington-maine-new brunswick and all the way out to the "Rock" New Foundland.

Good for you!! We need more tort breeders in Canada.

Even baby RF are around 250$ all the way to 500$!!

Akronic, unfortunately it is illegal to import any species of turtle/tortoise without the proper paperwork that is almost impossible to obtain!! One guy was caught at the border here in Quebec a couple months ago for trying to smuggle a dozen baby sulcata. He was fined 4000$ and will probably have trouble crossing the border for the next couple of years.

You said it! A grand is how much I paid for a small breeding group of RFs. MAN thats expensive, I can only imagine how much a female would cost. But atleast you got your male and good luck to you and your breeding project.
