Filter Current

I want to put duckweed and other floating aquatic plants in my aquarium but my filters waterfall moves the plants towards it and pushes them down into the water where it eventually gets stuck into the intake as seen in the photo, I made a baffler out of a cut up water bottle to try to slow the current down but I still have the problem, is there a way I can prevent this from happening?

Get a plumbing fitting the size of your return tube. Or get a clear, flexible tubing of a size that will fit over it. Lead the intake away from the outfall to another part of the tank.
