I recently have seen a buildup of hair algae in my duckweed growing bowl and it's stuck all on the roots, so I tried moving the plants into my guppy tank and they seem to be eating it off the roots which is perfect! But, the algae seems to come back once I move it back into the grow bowl, how can I prevent the new algae growth?

That does not look at all like string algae. That is the roots of healthy, growing duckweed!

Yes those are the roots but the algae is there, kind of hard to see in the photos but if I pull at the roots a thin dark green substance will come off of then
