My latest popped his head out of the egg yesterday like he was trying to decide if he wanted to come out or not. I tried to get a good pic as he would stick his head out and then pull it back in quickly.


This is batman - number 9 came out with this cool batman mask on his shell.

So how many total hatchlings have you had so far? Did you incubate them or leave them in the ground?

Hi Neal,

I've had 16 hatch so far, newest one yesterday. I was afraid to leave them in the ground because of the cold snaps we were having earlier, so they all spent one week sitting in the house environment and then into the incubator. First clutch was 100%, second clutch is going well, but one egg seems very light compared to the others so may not make 100%. Had one with minor shell deformation but he has actually come back pretty well. Had two with split scutes. Rest are perfect. The colorations are really varied too.
