Cant tell how thin it is. Also it looks like its really long. I would shoot for something thats not as long and has a little more width to it.

I like to have one that is big enough for the whole tortoise to stand on while it eats, that way when it poops its easier to pick up. I also think it may help wear the claws down a little. That one is probably fine for now though.

Ok (the tort is 2 inches big just so you know)

Also a RES used to have that rock in his tank. Would it pass diseases? Or anything bad?

Home depot and walmart sell small stepping stones all day long for $2. Just put your substrate around it and they won't have to climb at all. Thats what I have in all my enclosures. :)

Should work fine. I use alot of stones like this for my torts. Just more square instead of long. it helps keep nails and beak filed down as well. However I would wash it very good being that it was in a turtles enclosure. Scrub it really good with dish soap and let it soak in some very hot water for a while in the soap with a little bleach, and make sure to rinse it very well. If its slate make sure to get all the flakey parts of so ingestion dont happen of any small piece of rock.

thats more like it. looks good I keep it a little above the substrate so mulch or whatever your using doesnt get dragged up onto it.
