Hey everyone! I am a soon to be sulcata owner and my friend asked me: Are you going to do that thing when you feed your sulcata a certain food and they get extra big? So I said: what thing? And he said: you can look it up on the Internet. So my question is does anyone know what he is talking about?

If you feed straight Mazuri every day, your tortoise will grow faster than average. I don't recommend this.

Many owners feed mazuri everyday and I'm one of them. But I also have plenty of other stuff planted that they can graze on so there not eating strictly mazuri. Your friend may be referring to monkey biscuits because I have heard of people giving that to their torts to make them grow faster.

Anything high in protein will make a sulcuta grow faster....but you risk MBD and kidney failure......so base the diet on 70% grass and 30% on like dandelions, thornless cactus pads ( easy to grow, just order online), and dark leafy vegetables......no cabbage or broccoli.

You can get it online or maybe a pet store not named petsmart or petco will have it in stock. If you have a stock shop nearby they should have it available.

If cared for properly a sulcata will grow very large without any extra growth foods.
