I saw some pics when I was checking google images several months ago. That's what got me looking into turtles. Then finding one in the back yard and telling DH that that meant if I found one available, it was mine... right lol

If you have an exterior enclosure for your turtle, can you post pics. I have a great sunny spot I wanted to turn into a garden next to the house/deck, but would need to be able to plant something to provide shade.
So let me see them please - I'd like some ideas :)

My father inlaw keeps box turtles in NJ. He just plants native oak and maple saplings inside his enclosure. A few pachysandra for lower cover and a big hole in the ground full of leaves for them to burrow down in to sleep and hibernate. A large swampy bog area would be good too. I posted some pics a while back. You can check my old posts.

This is the one I just built for my box turtle. It is old 2 x 8s. I will add a hot wire along the top later.
