I went out to the box turtle pens at feeding time this a.m. and here's what I saw:

Actually, what I saw was this little rescued T.c.luteola halfway up the fence, but by the time I ran to the house and got my camera, she had made it up to the top. No wonder I got her as a "found" turtle. She's quite a fence climber. Had I not seen her, she wouldn't have escaped, though. The part of the fence that is "climbable" only leads into another pen. All of the outside fences look like this, with a horizontal board across the top.

you ever have any luck breeding luteola ?

I wish! I only have the male. I'm keeping my eyes open for a female, but it took me over 10 years to get this male.
