I have three small EBT's in this 40 gal tank outside on my patio. It gets sun from sunrise to about 11:30/12 then shade the rest of the day. I currently do not have the UVB lamp on my tank because the temperatures get high somedays. I have a towel on the back of the tank to shade 1/2 the enclosure and many plants to provide shade. I take the turtles out many times during the week and soak them in the sun with shade provided. Do you recommend a UVB light anyway or keep doing what I'm doing? The temperatures get to 80-90 with 90 being the warmest. The humidity is usually 60 or above. Thank you for your feedback. I think they are getting enough natural UVB and don't need a light.

But be aware that the sun shining through the glass of an aquarium can quickly cook any creatures inside the tank.

You would need to block the sun from heating up the glass. I would at least obscure the sun from hitting at least one side.
