It's a female. She laid two eggs two hours after she arrived. You can still see growth lines, so probably not ancient. Her eyes are strawberry red, and her skin is lavender. Shell color is somewhere in between the two pics. Under UV, she glows.

I should have noticed but in the first pic the red eye threw me off, I didn't really notice the shell shape, was looking to see if the shell was worn from age, Anyway "She Is Beautiful" There is an old female in Maryland, that the shell has worn to where you can see the bone in a couple places, she was first spotted in 1987,but not seen for 3 years now, Hopefully she is still wandering around somewhere. That's neat about the quick egg laying, last summer someone dropped off a female and I put it in the enclosure where I keep the young manouria in early spring and fall when it's cooler, she was in there for only a short time, but I found 3 hatchlings when I was getting the enclosure ready for the manouria in Sept.

Of course. The seller told me that she laid one egg the morning he shipped, and I was a little disapointed that he didn't include the egg, but waS still surprised to see them. I don't know how long it's been since she was with a male, though. I'll know in about three weeks. I have been trying to get her for a year and a half.

Wow! Speechless here. Where do I get in line for a hatchling??

Well, You guys have to get in line behind me. My tentative plan for her is to keep all hatchlings to see if this pattern is a fluke, or something I can reproduce. I'm not sure if she is within the range of "normal" colored easterns, or a hypo or other mutation. I can imagine that she was quite a looker even as a young hatchling.

I have a female, who isn't as old as yours, but has quite a bit of yellow too. As they get older the pattern seem to fade away and just the color remains. Should be interesting.
