What is the cause for dry skin? You see,the top head of my baby Sulcata seems to have dry skin?Like,it's a bit crusty. Also,I heard that toroises shed their skin?Is this true?If yes,at what age do they usually shed their skin?
Thanks.
Dry skin may be an indication that the tortoise's environment is too dry. Young, growing tortoises shed skin constantly. They begin shedding when they begin growing and never stop.

What can I do to make his/her enviroment a bit wetter?By the way,I live here in the Philippines where the climate is quite hot and very humid.
Thanks.
Even though your climate may be humid, basking lights and other heat sources may be drying out your tortoises enclosure. That's not uncommon at all. Most people keep the substrate moist by spraying it and mixing it up to keep some of the moisture at the lower levels also. Daily or more often misting may be necessary too. A more moist substrate and misting will also help your tortoise to grow smoother.

I do not keep Sulcata tortoises so hopefully someone on the forum that has more experience with Sulcatas will jump in here and share their methods and suggestions.

RE: at what age???

Baby sulcatas don't have to shed, but if they do its no big deal.
