It has been my experience this was caused by not enough calcium. It needs to be gently filed down every two months or so until you get it where it belongs, and offer more calcium rich foods.

Without seeing the top part of the beak, it’s hard to say if it also needs to be trimmed. The advice @zovick gave you on your other thread was correct and very good. “Tortoise has an underbite. Lower beak could possibly be trimmed back and reshaped by a vet to correct this. It might need to be done in stages over a period of a year or more.” Yvonne’s reply in this thread also echos the same response. Because of how severe it is, I wouldn’t recommend trying to fix it yourself especially if you haven’t done that sort of thing before. Find a good experienced vet. Good luck and please share your experience with getting it fixed up so it can help others in the future.

Me and my father have agreed to book him to a exotic vets do you know approximately how Mutch it will cost thanks
Yes, the tortoise definitely has an underbite.

All vets have their own fees and ways of figuring out the charges for the procedures they do. In the US fees for the same procedure may vary quite a bit between different vets.

Are you in Chesterfield, UK or in the US.? If in the UK, there really is no way for someone in the US (like me) to say how much a UK vet will charge you for such a procedure. Maybe one of the UK readers might be able to provide you with some insight from their personal experiences.
