So I recently posted about my russian male and female and think its best I come up with a temporary barrier until I sort another enclosure.
They come like as the pictures show, although I had re arranged so the hides and water bowls were apart. Whats the best stuff to get so they live the comfortable life the long disire (out of eachothers face)... easy DIY for now until I get them in a bigger nicer enclosure! Also do these pair look young? They are literally the size of my palm so small!! I figured that maybe the littler male (Duggee) has been dominated by (norry) the bigger russian female in their old owners care. The shell is a little dry but bathing him as much as I can in luke warm water everyday! Ive had them for a week and just only know finding out alot of things and im so hurt that they have just been living pure miserable :( so like any deacent human should so im turning to you guys to point and show me to the right direction

I would just put a sheet of plywood in there. I hope you plan to get them better substrate and raise humidity a lot, they are definitely hatchlings. Since they are so young you won’t be able to tell the sex for a while. Please read the care sheet I linked to you in your other thread.

Greetings....

If you have some bricks laying about you could easily make a nice stone wall right down the center. On each side keep your hide and get each side a terracotta plant saucer as a watering bowl. Replace all of those rabbit pellets with some better substrate (coco coir or medium grade orchid bark). They do look very small.

Ok no problem ill have a good look through now, I knew they were young as the shell is a little soft underneath duggee (littler one) hense why regular soaks is on the cards! Can they be dominant and agressive this young? Sorry if you have answerd that question a dozen times its just im amazed that these dont like to mix especially duggee he hides away when norry comes out for a stretch! Maybe because it knows its smaller maybe? Im probs over reacting but all in best interest for these lil stunners! Im a uk gal and winter is coming its so cold here should I keep them in a tank until spring? Beacuse hatchlings need more heat? Bombarded with qestions I am sorry! Just eager to learn about my babies

Yes they can. Hatchlings need high humidity never let it drop from 85%. The smaller one is probably hiding from the bigger one. Read this care sheet it will explain most of your questions...

You are going to do just fine with your babies! I know that because you are here on TFO, and you are eager to make their habitat better for them.

You may be surprised to know that the big one is not always the bully. Sometimes the smaller one will be super feisty!

It's so good that you are separating them now. When they fight and injure or kill the weaker one, it is heartbreaking, not only for the owner, but also for us.

Thank you for listening to, and following, our advice. Both you and the babies will be much happier for it.
