Desert Tortoises at the zoo

Went to the Santa Barbara zoo this week and took a video of the desert tortoise exhibit. I thought it was kind of fun so I thought I would share.

Nice, I don't think they can climb out of there. How do they remove the cactus thorns on the still growing cactus?

No! Gemina was euthanized in early 2008. She pretty much stopped eating and was getting real skinny. She was born in 1986 so she would have been 22 or so...max for a giraffe is around 25, so she lived a full INDEPENDENT life.

yeah in the giraffe exhibit they had 3 large sulcata tortoises too but they were too far away to get a good video
