Hi, guys. I have a softshelled turtle. She was very healthy until i have found shes dead last night. As of this writing, shes dead almost 24 hours. Upon knowing shes not moving, but not floating, i execute CPR hoping shell come back to life because i thought she died the like last few minutes, her body is soft yet unresponsive. Ive checked her eyes but they seem dead. I left her overnight in a clean large pot. In the morning, i checked her again, i held her body and it didnt get hard like its dead. I think that youre right shes like ina coma, maybe. Im hopefull shell come back.

She seemed dead but i left her body in an open space but it didnt get hard, shes apparently dead almost 24 hours now. Ive checked her body but still its soft, like if you move it, no resistance at all. It was like she just fainted.

Any difference in the eyes? Sunken in? Glassed over or foggy looking, dry?
No smells?
I'd still wait.
Soft shell turtles DO hibernate. Where are you located.
@Yvonne G Do you know if a turtle will go into sudden hibernation like that?
(My mind says no.)

Does the turtle move at all when you gently tap on it's eye?

No, and it's not a real hibernation anyway. They just slow down and stop moving, but eyes are generally open and they move when you touch them.
