I've never been a hand feeder or shell petting tortoise keeper. Especially as the number of turtles/tortoises grew, it was just something I never bothered with. In SoCal I spent lots of time gardening in the tort pens and just watching them... Never felt the desire to really handle them or talk to them.
Well....now that I'm down to one and in a climate with cold days, things are different. I don't have multiple pens to garden or the weather to sit and watch various torts graze. So after talking with @Elohi alot...Lol..I've decided to try and do more with Levi. I'm going to start hand feeding him sometimes and get this, I even put him on my lap today while talking to him! Haha I felt like a nut LOL
Anyway....here are some photos to document this new tortoise adventure.. At first he wouldn't touch the dandelion...kept pushing it (my hand) out of the way to graze on the grass. So I moved him to the concrete and put grass on the flower! ..He finally took to it
