Wow! I've never seen that before. I like the 'different' ones. If that were mine, I'd keep it to see how it grew up.

Love the name. It's interesting. I bet he straightens out. Will be interesting to see what it does do.

Yeah, I was thinking he'd straighten out too, Barb. Probably just a bit bent from being squashed up in the egg. Be cool if he stayed like that though.

I think it's going to stay like that, but it will be less noticeable as it grows.
Cool hatchling!

This one is about 2.5 months old. Hasn't really made any changes so far. Still very cool. I am curious as to how the areolas will deveop as well and whether they will keep the subtle line of the back shift.

Hmm...I always thought split scutes were neat, but this is a whole different ball of wax. I'd be interested to see how that tortoise looks 5 years from now.

Interesting indeed. Does it seem to have any effect on him?

This one we are going to keep long term just to see how he/she develops. I am blown away, this one is special.

Good, it will be interesting to see how/if the shell changes much as this little one develops. Since its vertebrae are fused to those scutes, it would be interesting to have a slideshow of x-rays (at various age intervals) to see if the misalignment will result in any cocked joints in the legs or if things will develop to compensate for the cocked vertebral scutes. If only I could get you a fancy x-ray machine...

I wish Crookshanks the best! What a neat tortoise.

No effect at all. He is keeping up with all the others.

Yes, it would be cool if I could get a cheap x ray machine. Once I win lotto, I will get one and take age interval shots. If only...
