Craigslist ad says box turtle but need a second opinion

Can someone help identify him?
I have never seen one like that and I might be interested rescuing him, his home looks terrible.

Looks like a box turtle to me. Don't know the type, but pretty sure it is a box turtle.

Definitely a box turtle, but I don't know what kind. I used to keep those when I was a kid (way back when...)

It's a 3-toe box turtle (Terrapene carolina triunguis) and maybe a female.

I hope you get her!!! She or he looks healthy but her enclosure does not look too good....you are right about that!!

I hope you do too! She looks great to me too, but I bet it won't be long before she starts to decline by the looks of her current surroundings.

I emailed the OP about the turtle, it was posted March 31 so I want to make sure he still has it. Then I asked how long he's had it, what he's feeding it, and if he's using any lights.

That being said, I have a Russian and a Sulcata, I don't have the first idea about raising a 3-toed Boxie. Any tips for me??

I have Eastern boxies and I dont know if you do the same with three toes. I hope someone replies and gives you help soon!! Are you going to get her?
