I can answer that one - fresh. They have been in fresh since hatching - I keep mine that I got from Terry in fresh also.

I can count on one hand the number of times I have seen the male.. up on the basking platform!!! He is seldom on it. Tonight as if he was 'posing' for us he decided to crawl up there and show off.

This is how the current tub looked when I first set it up.

Tuff Stuff -

A few changes and additions will be posted tommorrow.

If you want to keep these incredible creatures.. it takes a very peaceful quiet space.. and some cash to get them set-up so they will thrive and be happy. There is at least 500 pounds of water in that tub alone.

They go from quarter size to almost 4" the first year.. so you have to have a good sized tank for them from the start. A 40 breeder would be fine for 1 or 2..... I would definitely NOT put them with any other anything! I only have 'cory cats' with the hatchlings.
