cleaning my turtle pond

i know this is a tortoise forum but i have a question about my turtle ponds i have red ear sliders in my ponds and no matter what kind of filter i have i can't keep them clean what should i do add plant's fish a even bigger filter please help thank's

How often do you feed them? RESs are like the goldfish of the turtle world...they will eat and eat and eat until they roll over--and then pretend like they never ate if you walk within eye roll of them....lol...

Overfeeding will dirty the water rapidly....if you are not overfeeding I would review your filtering system as well as check to see if your pond remains in full sun all day....
