Hi folks! I haven't been on here in a while.. so forgot user name and created a new account!

Some questions for you all... I just made a pine tortoise table for my little Hermanns tort..

1) I want to coat the interior with polyurethane or something similar. What are you opinions on Minwax Fast-Drying polyurethane? It says re-coating can take place after 4 hours... Is it a) safe b) effective?

2) How many coats is necessary? Does it depend on which product I select?

3) What about other products? Thompson's Water Seal maybe? Anything else?

Thank you so much for you assistance!

Cheers,

That's a question I've had, too!

A painter at work recommended Minwax Polycrylic because if its resistance to abuse. But I've not used it yet. Any insight from other members would be invaluable!

I used a whey based poly. No fumes. Very quick drying. I love this stuff.

Jury is still out on effectiveness since I used the outdoor version and discovered too late that it UVB cures. The parts aboveground are great, but I don't know how the buried part will hold up.

What is the brand?

Seems like there are a number of products that can work...
