They are growing in my outside Redfoot enclosure. I do remember tossing some bird seed in there awhile bk. I'm just not sure if they are from the seeds I tossed Or what they are. Would also like to know if they are ok for my Reds to eat? Any help is appreciated.

Top two are same plant. I tried to get 2pics of the same plant from different angles so to speak to help identify the plants. Next two are the same also. The rest are single pics. Thank you all In Adavance.

I'm no expert but I believe the first one is plantain, second one no idea but I don't feed to mine, third looks like dandelion, last one looks like thistle.

I feed all of those to mine except for the one with purple flowers.

@ Iochroma Would anyone else care to take a shot at identifying these weeds?

Thanks to all that have helped. I'm just wanting to be positive. I do wonder what that weed with purple flowers is though.

In spite of Yvonne's confidence in me, I am not all that good at Texas weeds. I'm a West Coast guy.
The first one I do not recognize. It does not look like any plantain (Plantago sp.)
Sadly, I don't know the second one either. I don't think it is a sow thistle, though it may be one of the edible prickley lettuces.
I agree the fifth picture is an edible "henbit".
Last one, though blurry, does look like a sow thistle.

Can I just restate, that in general, flowers are the feature that is needed for plant identification. Please post pictures with a close-up of the flower if you want a positive ID. It it most helpful if there are several pictures of each plant, including flower, overall plant, stem with leaf, and other details. Digital photos are essentially free; throw away the blurry ones and reshoot. If your plants do not have flowers, and you are not absolutely sure of their species, you should not feed them to any animal.

In this set, the first and fourth seem to be prickly lettuces. The second is too blurry to ID, but may be an edible cress. Please re-shoot that flower and repost a picture.
