I live in central florida, and Sheldon decided to take a bite. I just want to make sure it's not poisonous. It's a tropical with a dark red flower. Thanks for any help.

Just checked and it's attached at the base of the plant. It's definitely a flowering tropical

The flower, to me, looks like a member of the amaryllis family (generally toxic). I don't recognize which one this is though.

Hmm he took one bite of the leaf, so I think he should be ok. To be safe I might dig it up and bring it to my front yard.

Thanks

It looks like Crinum (giant) lily. I don't see them grow here in Texas but in Florida they are all over the place and I think even Texas and southern states coast.
