..... or anyone else of course!

Since this ended after basically the first pip.. and it went sideways - http://tortoiseforum.org/thread-13251.html

.... we're back to out of the egg and absorbing his yolk-sac.

This little one tried to jump out of the egg after I went in after him because he was acting like he couldn't 'pip-right'. What that means is I opened the shell by removing some of the top of it. Within a day or two he was out as much as he could - he actually had a yolk-sac almost as big as he was. [ no pics ] So for the past week I've nursed him to this point -

He's now active in the little cup he's in so we're past the 'danger-zone'.

Now.. the reason for this thread ---

Wattaya see guys? We're getting closer aren't we?

Not the most colorful -

He has the look doesn't he? -

I am referring to the Brazilian look - mentioned in the link to the thread about when he 'pipped'.. Jeff.

Hopefully we're clean.

Thanks for asking...

Well I'm not an old timer, and I have no idea what you are talking about, but I LOVE his dark color. I think he's beautiful. He's not screaming color .....is there a reason for that?

Terry: Are you saying that this baby is from the mom who has been popping out all the hybrids, and that now she's finally popped out a purebred? If that's what you're saying...then

DATTED B IT!!! Thank you.. Yvonne. She has hatched a few from different males, yes. [ hybrids ??? ]

TerryO you may recall how some 'breeders' show some of their most colorful hatchlings.. and then mention that some are very plain, almost no color. Most people are proud to have a healthy tortoise with character. This little guy would probly have died in the wild.. he's a tiny 'premy'.

I do see signs of patterns, etc. from the Brazilian male.. which I haven't seen before this one. The male from 5 years ago -

Now I'll be waiting to see this 'blood' ( from Carl ) in a couple years -
