Hello...I'm new to this & hoping to get some advice. My CA deseert tortoise has a puffy gland that grew out & hanging out of his anus/tail area. Any advice? It just happened today & he had pooped a lot. He's moving around fine, but clearly something is wrong. Help?

What you are seeing is a prolapse. It could be his penis or it might be some of the intestines. Main thing is to keep it moist. If it dries out, the tissue will die and have to be amputated. Quite often these things resolve on their own, but sometimes you have to have a vet put it back inside.
You need to find out why this happened. Prolapses occur because the tortoise was straining and straining. There might be some sort of blockage like stones.
If the prolapse doesn't go in on its own, please take the tortoise to a qualified vet to relieve his discomfort.
