Burmese Star tortoises. I was wondering what keepers here have experienced with regards to adult sizes between male and females?

Am I correct here:
Male Burmese Stars 10-12inches
Females 12-15inches

I couldn't believe the difference between my Russians... male is 490g, female is 930g.

I have an Indian Star and that's why I wanted a male. Stars are on the smaller side already but I could provide a better home and more space for a male than a female.

15" would be a HUGE female! There are always exceptions and very large individuals occasionally. However, for a size that would encompass probably 99% of them:

Females are normally in the 4000g up to 6000g for a large one. So - 11" - 13"

Males are normally in the 1200g to 2500g range. 8" - 10"

I agree with what Mark said.

Other notes: The males grew much faster initially, and then around year 3 or 4 the females catch up and pass them. Most od my males have remained on the small side. I have one that is bigger than the rest.

I'll put a tape measure to them when it stops raining here.
