When I soak my Russian he starts vigorously clawing, trying to get out. He makes sounds when he is breathing. Is this just because he is out of breath because of moving so much? Thanks in advance!

Think it's just because of trying to escape, having lost his breath. As long as his nose is clear of any fluids, and he breathes fine when dry, I think he is fine.
