Box Turtle seems to have trouble swallowing

I have a box turtle that is about 13 months old. He was always eating meal worms without any trouble and for the past few weeks he has trouble eating. He gets the worms but it just stays in his mouth and he doesn't swallow it. He seems very hungry because he will go after the worms but seems unable to eat them. At one point he would eat anywhere from 3-8 a day. Any help would be appreciated. I don't know how long he can last without food. I tried offering him other food, veggies, fruits, turtle food but he doesn't go for it. Thanks

Can you post a pic of the enclosure?

What else have you fed it over all that time?

It's not about how long he can go without eating, it's about how long you wait to take him to the vet to have his mouth and throat checked.

Agree with Yvonne, there maybe number of reasons why this animal can't eat and my biggest concern would be that whatever the cause, it may hurt like heck. I'd get him to reptile vet asap get inside of his mouth/throat looked at. Keep us posted
