Hi there, I was wondering if someone could suggest some excellent
books on tortoises.
I'd really like a good book on Red foots and another on Leopards.
Something that has everything in it and quite up to date?
I have the run of the mill books offered by pet stores but I find them lacking.
I also wouldn't mind finding a Veterinary type book for tortoises.
Thanks Sue

In general, I prefer good websites to books- more recent info, but that also means you gotta sort through a lot of bunk.

Red-foots, I would recommend these books:
Mike Pingleton- The Redfoot Manual (http://www.amazon.com/dp/1441494030/?tag=exoticpetnetw-20) although if you get it from his site, he'll often sign it for you- http://www.pingleton.com/redfoot/redfoots.htm

Amanda Ebenbeck- Redfoots and Yellowfoots (http://www.amazon.com/dp/0978755634/?tag=exoticpetnetw-20 )

Vinke and Vetter- South American Tortoises (http://www.amazon.com/dp/3899736036/?tag=exoticpetnetw-20 )

I think the Vinke's book is AWESOME! But $$$ and covers a lot more than cares. I like Mike's book better than Amanda's, but part of that is that I kinda know Mike. Either is a good book on the subject (... but Mikes is better:) )

Madkins007.........I like the internet also, but find I get bogged down at times and would like to have a book to sit with.

Cheers Sue
